We will guarantee all of our manufactured items for a period of 3 years from date of installation.
Definitions 1.1. “Seller” means Window Trendz Limited
1.2. “Buyer” shall mean the Buyer or person acting on behalf of and with the authority of the Buyer
Quotations 2.1 Our quotations are valid for 20 days from the date reflected on the quotation. The date can be found on the bottom of the quotation.
2.2 Quotations based on builders plans or your own measurements will be subject to an on-site measure as the building progresses or if you choose to go ahead, and may be subject to change should the actual building or the product specifications differ from the original plans or measurements supplied.
2.3 Quotations include installation where the Buyer has agreed to remove old window coverings, so that our installer has a clear workspace.. If we need to remove your existing window coverings the Buyer agrees that the Seller (Window Trendz Limited) will charge $15 per pair of drapes/voiles and per track or blind to remove the obstructions.
Our Guarantees 3.1 INSTALLATION – The Seller guarantees the effectiveness of their installation for a period of three years from the date initially installed. In the event that the Seller is liable for repair of damaged property the Buyer will allow access for up to three tradesmen for the purpose of obtaining quotes on the work required.
3.2 OUR GUARANTEE – For a period of three years the Seller (Window Trendz Limited) guarantees to replace or repair any product found to be faulty as a result of a manufacturing defect that has been in accordance with the manufacturers recommended instructions. No claims for faded fabrics on leading edges of drapes or roman blinds that have been exposed to direct sunlight will be recognised. Please see below for more information regarding fabric care and fabric movements.
3.3 WORKMANSHIP – The Seller guarantees all workmanship on manufactured products including drapes, roman blinds and voiles for a period of three years from the installation date or delivery date.
Terms of Payment 4.1 Unless otherwise agreed the Seller requires a deposit of 50% of the jobs value before commencing the order.
4.2 The balance of payment is due within seven days of the fitting or delivery/pickup of goods.
4.3 If the buyer cancels a job after orders have been processed and or work has commenced the buyer will be liable for the costs the Seller may have incurred during this process, including but not limited to fabric costs, re-stocking fees, admin labour and sewing labour.
4.4 The Seller will not be held financially liable should a suppliers inability to supply the ordered fabric on-time, or even at all, results in a client’s inconvenience or financial loss.
4.5 Should a part of the job have been delayed through no fault of the Buyer, e.g. fabric delays, product repairs, etc. the amount of the delayed portion of the job may remain unpaid until the jobs completion. The remaining funds will be subject to the regular terms of seven days after installation or receipt.
4.6 If installation or delivery is delayed at the Buyers request, 10% of the value of the job can be left unpaid until completion of job.
4.7 Repairs of damaged goods, for example damages while transporting or installation, will be liable to the party at fault.
4.8 If, at the Buyers request, the Seller makes more than one trip to complete installation, the Seller reserves the right to charge an additional install charge for each individual visit to the property. In this circumstance, a separate invoice will be rendered for this service. Partial Installation will not entitle the Buyer to reject the goods.
4.9 If, on the day of the pre-booked installation the job cannot be completed due to the property not being fit for installation and the installer has to leave the property unable to do their job there will be an addition charge of $100.00 added to cover costs incurred by the Seller.
Default & Consequences of Default 5.1 All goods remain the property of Window Trendz Ltd until payment for the job has been received in full. The Seller reserves the right to repossess any goods supplied to the Buyer that have not been paid in full once payment is overdue. Refunds of deposits will occur less any costs incurred by the Seller in the recovery of the goods including penalty interest that has accrued as per point 5.2 below.
5.2 Unpaid accounts will begin to gain interest 30 days after the date of installation or delivery of goods at a rate of 10.0% monthly until the date of payment.
Fabric Care 6.1 New Zealand has some of the strongest sunlight in the world and with our extreme UV rating, customers should be aware of certain precautions when selecting window furnishings.
6.2 All fabrics, regardless of the dyes used will deteriorate under direct sunlight including reflected ultra violet light.
6.3 Where possible a quality sun filter is recommended when fabrics are in direct or reflected sunlight, even if through double glazed or tinted glass.
6.4 A superior quality lining is always recommended.
6.5 Leading edges of drapes (those facing windows) are particularly vulnerable to sunlight degradation. The help minimise this effect, it is recommended that curtains be rotated periodically, i.e. – the left hand drapes swapped to the right hand position.
6.6 Ensure sufficient ‘stack back’ is achieved to minimise direct sunlight when drawing the drapes off the windows during the day. Although closing drapes may keep the interior cooler, it is highly destructive to drape fabrics and the temperatures between the glass and fabric can be extreme causing fabrics to become more susceptible to tearing and disintegration.
Fabric Movement 7.1. Fabrics are not a solid substance and can move due to atmospheric conditions. An acceptable industry standard allows for up to 3% movement in most fabrics and with certain others, e.g. acrylic, polyester, cotton, linens and acetates, 5-6% shrinkage is considered normal.
