Mikronwood Venetian Blinds show high UV Resistance
MCP New Zealand Limited has submitted its MikronWoodTM Venetian Blinds and comparable PVC products for testing under simulated indoor and outdoor UV exposure.
The test results provide a clear demonstration of the superiority of MikronWoodTM blinds. After simulated exposure equivalent to three years of use, the MikronWoodTM blinds showed “very minor colour change”, compared to “substantial colour change” for PVC blinds in the same conditions.
Typically indoor materials are exposed to UVA351 which shows good correlation in the short wavelength to sunlight through glass.
For UVA351 ageing a typical 1000 hour test is often proven to represent 1-3 years of normal use outdoors.
Both products were visually inspected every 250 hours, with results captured in photographs provided.
